Long time client of Crumlic Media the Historic Hotel Bethlehem will soon be posting several new videos provided by the video production company based in New York City.
The hotel provides four star accomodations and service to guests in a recently remodeled and renovated beautiful 1920's era facility. Several years ago managing owner Bruce Haines wanted a video about the hotel, it's history and the surrounding features for the guests to enjoy while being transported in the courtesy van from the local airport to the hotel. Crumlic Media was contacted thanks to an introduction by David Stravitz of the nearby eDavid Gallery (Crumlic's very first arts client) located two blocks from the hotel. After meeting, Bill Crumlic and Bruce Haines came to an agreement and production was underway.
That very same video was also placed on the hotel's web site home page and presented on the hotel's in house television channel. It provided the elements also used for the hotel's television commercial advertising also produced by Crumlic Media.
The video had been updated a number of times when Hotel Bethlehem staff or information presented in the video would change. In 2009 Crumlic Media started working in High Definition video and began shooting additional fresh source material each time they were called to the hotel for an update. This was in preperation for the eventual changeover of the hotel video products to HD and for all new television commercials that would be produced.
Although the often revised video was holding up well, it did start to show signs of its age and alterations to the master copy were becoming more difficult. Crumlic was again called to meet and discuss some new changes and to shoot source video (for future use) while the hotel was decorated for Christmas. Again Crumlic and Haines met and a new idea emerged to re-create the entire video but to contain the various subjects into modules that could then be placed on individual pages of the hotel's website. The modules could then be put edited together to create the video for the courtesy van, the web site's home page and the in house television channel at the hotel. The modular format will make future alterations much easier in the editing process saving time and money for the long time Crumlic Media cleint.
The "Generation 8" project (refering to the number of times the original project had been updated) was completed this past week and was delivered on Saturday, April 30th by Crumlic. "It has been quite a journey bringing together all of the elements for this massive re-working of the eight minute video." Said Crumlic. "Just as we were getting close to producing the rough draft for Bruce's approval last month a staff change took place causing an entire module to be re-scripted and shot." he added.
Time was schedule for the re-shoot and major changes were made to how that segment was to be presented. Once all material was shot, assembly began and the links to the rough drafts were sent for approval with only minor revisions needed.
In the past three weeks the project was in the home strech with excellent collaboration between Bill Crumlic, Bruce Haines, Hotel General Manager Dennis Costello and Director of Sales & Marketing Kelly Ronalds. The new video and modules are an excellant example of the fine work produced by Crumlic Media for historic hotels and restaurants.
